The number one problem my professional mom clients come to me to help them solve is STRESS! They have so many balls to juggle and so many things are swirling around them.
The number two problem they have is doing something about the stress each day. They've all tried meditation, with little to moderate success, but it seems to be a dream that fades with their busy lives. (More to be stressed about!)
I get it! I was a resistent and reluctant meditator. I would have a brief affair with meditation, but never really made it something that was a permanent part of the my life. And it was first thing tossed off the list when things got busy (aka most days).
What I've found is that if you want to create a meditation practice, you need to put it in your schedule, show up no matter what, and keep going.
I had to INVEST in the practice...consistently.
I invested my time, my money in learning different types of meditation and also kept coming back to WHY I was doing it. It helped me keep stress low, I felt more patient with myself and others. It improved my relationships. It actually allowed me to be more effective in my day-to-day life. It was self-care.
Then, something interesting happened- my clients asked me to start a group.
I started Chaos to Calm: The 30 Day Meditation Challenge because my clients demanded it. They needed support and they knew that if they invested a few minutes each weekday morning with me (and continued on the weekends!), they would be much more likely to continue meditating than if they tried it alone or with a video or audio program.
They were in with both feet, they invested money and time, and showed up for themselves and for each other (being in a group helps!). They were committed to following the guided meditations and relaxation techniques I practiced with them for a month.
And they were right! The investment and commitment paid off!
-feeling more relaxed to start their day (decrease of stress)

-able to take tasks one at a time (less overwhelm!)
